TERRIBLE. This flight attendant is vicious and bitchy and just awful. This book is not useful as a critique of passengers, but is DARNED good at making me hate the author.
Well, she is pissed off and proceeds to tell us all about passengers bad antics and stupid things they do. I did not find much humor in this book; I did not laugh out loud. The author comes across as angry and fed up. Although we are told by her that she is happy and loves her job, one wonders. Not a great read. Wish I could get my money back. If you want to read this book, wait until you can borrow in library.
I am amazed that such an arrogant, negative, judgmental and downright nasty person was even hired by an airline. I was a flight attendant for 14 years, when there were strict standards for hiring, not just quotas to fill. Her attitude toward the passengers is appalling for someone in a service industry. Her sense of entitlement and "don't bother me while I'm writing this book on the jump seat" attitude, should be grounds for dismissal. She is enthralled with herself and looks down her nose at everyone else. I bought this book because I thought it would be funny, as there are many humorous anecdotes to be shared in this business. It wasn't at all funny, Instead it just pissed me off!
The author of this book should not be allowed to work with the public. She has totally no respect foir the passengers who are paying her salary. It is my opinion she should be caged and fed with a stick. I have never read a book do full of hate before.
I think this could have been better written. The author sounds like she has a real chip on her shoulder. Your customers are your business. If you don't like your job, change it!
A very negative and hostile account of a flight attendant's employment. Negative and condescending remarks about the airlines paying passengers (without which this author would not have had a job). So awful I didn't waste my time reafing to the end.
I have flown enough to realize that most of the stories are true...but though she told some interesting stories...she continuously reminds us of how smart, pretty, well dressed, sophisticated she wants us to think she is. Well Ms. Pearl...what you think of yourself does nothing to add anything to your book. In fact besides the stories you told you also accomplished giving your fellow attendants a black eye....maybe now you will make their list.
I thought this book would have been funny, sadly it's just in plain poor taste. Having worked as a flight attendant for a mainline air carrier, I am thankful that none of my trips included working with anyone with a mean spirit. The flying public can be difficult at times, but putting on heels and stepping on a persons foot to hear them scream in pain is never okay. I didn't make it past the first chapter. Frankly, a refund would be nice. This person is considered a professional in the industry and conducts herself in this manner. Wow. I'm shocked she's still employed and even more so sickened with the airline she works for--whichever carrier it is. Shameful.
